Hi Everyone,

The manager of our local independent theater, the Camelot Theaters (http://www.camelottheatres.com/), is a avid hiker and he has arranged to bring a special one time screening of MILE... MILE & A HALF, a documentary of the John Muir Trail. The date is Wednesday, September 4th at 7:30 pm and the cost will be $8, which will cover the theater rental. The theater has real food and adult beverages, so this could be a nice opportunity to get together.

That's pretty cool. Dang it though I work in OC and live in LA, neither of which is conveniently placed to get out to PS on a Wednesday night.

Wow, just finished reading ellens first post on the jmt, and now this . Jus t that short clip really brings things to life.too bad its too far for travel for me too :cry:

HJ, the film was fantastic. Of course we all expected the scenery to be spectacular and it was, but the film was also very entertaining. Because it's a very indie film, I don't know how much it will be shown on big screens, which was a bonus, but I believe that it will be available on Bluray and DVD soon. Everyone I talked to after the screening loved it. Several members of the audience are now putting together plans to do the hike, since it was also somewhat inspirational. I certainly recommend it.

Yes,
It was a very cool movie, amazing scenery, good personal stories, and a 200% snow year made for some interesting scenes.

You can pre order the movie here, which looks like it will include outtakes & other clips not in the movie we saw. $20.
Btw, it has some good music in it as well.
