Trio of hikers tumble from Big Falls in Forest Falls

FOREST FALLS -- Firefighters rescued two hikers who fell from the Big Falls and were trying to rescue a third Saturday evening, San Bernardino County Fire officials said.
"Firefighters been able to pull out two males and they are in ambulances and they are working to locate a female," said Tim Franke, San Bernardino County Fire dispatch supervisor. "Their injuries are not known at this time."

Shortly after 4 p.m., authorities received 9-1-1 calls reporting the trio had fallen from the Big Falls, Franke said.

A San Bernardino County Sheriff's helicopter was called in to help with the operation but was cancelled Satruday evening, Franke said.

County firefighters were assisted by the National Forest Service as well, officials said.

This is the same location where an Orange County teen fell on Fourth of July and sustained major injuries, fire officials said.
