Does anyone know a good place around Palm Desert where I can get MSR fuel canisters for my pocket rocket stove?

Thanks

There's a Big 5 in Palm Desert. I haven't been to that store, but the Big 5 near me carries cannisters. I'm pretty sure they would carry them at the Palm Des. store.

BIG 5 Sporting Goods
72284 Highway 111
Palm Desert, CA 92260
(760) 340-3358

There's also a Big 5 in Palm Springs and another in La Quinta. If one store doesn't have it another might.

If not, a lot of sporting goods, hunting, and outdoors stores carry them as do REI and Sport Chalet. Heck, I think even Walmart carries them.

One tip: The Snow Peak brand cannisters work just as well as the MSR brand cannisters and are usually about a dollar less. Yes, I know, every stove manufacturer says you must use only their cannisters (how convenient for them), but in reality there's very little difference between the brands: Jet Boil, Snow Peak, MSR, Coleman, Optimus (I think), Brunton, and possibly others. As long as it has a Lindel valve, you're good to go. Note: Do not get Camping Gaz; that ain't no Lindel valve.

This might help some 'cause not every store carries MSR brand, and it might save you a few bucks over time.
