Cold as Hell

Lightweight expedition

Organized chaos (my backpack after a few days)

Calm winds

Bad day on the trail

Lets pair up in rope teams of three ( I actually heard this!)

Indoor rockclimbing (ever seen an indoor climbing wall made of real rock?)

No rope needed - its an easy Class 5 scramble
3 of the 5 voices in my head are telling me to "Go for it!"

Going outta town tomorrow, but here's a classic (though not about hiking):

The great Yogi Berra:

Baseball is 90% mental, the other half is physical.

I love that, because half of what I say makes just about that much sense. Good thing 90% of what I say is actually accurate...! Can somebody do the math on that for me?

Here's a few more hiking or camping related ones:
"simple 6 hour canyoneering trip" (they tend to take 5 or more repels and 10 hours longer than anticapted),
"too much gear for a short trip" (in my experience, that's 2 oxymorons),
"quick family/group picture".
When life doesn't seem good to you, it may not be for your own good that it is that bad. If you know Who is really in control then in the end you should you it will be good for you too.

Yup. The first 72 takes should suffice, but someone has always got their eyes closed...

Love that one 8) A related quote -- I'm not lost, it's just that nobody else knows where I am
