So I haven't visited the site for a while and come back to see the pic of SanJ on the top left has been replaced by a big RockyMountainTrail.com advertisement.

What gives, Perry? Just giving you a hard time, haha.

I'm broke! Even though I have 2 jobs, they won't have hours for me again until the fall. Most businesses in the desert are not hiring in the summer.

Is the ad too big? Any other opinions are welcome. Honestly I would prefer to keep it ad-free if I didn't need the money right now.

Hi Perry,

You provide a greatly needed public service by providing this forum to us. Not only do members post current conditions, but also I've learned a lot about training, equipment, and safety from this forum. In addition, you, the other moderators, and all the members seem to keep a positive attitude rolling through the threads of this board. So a few advertisements don't bother me at all. Keep up the good work!

If it ever comes down to $$, I'm willing to help out.

Thanks!

Larry

I wondered why the picture was gone but can't see the ad because I have AdBlock on my browser. Any good deals on the ad?

Thanks for the kind replies and info. I hope it's not too annoying that the main menu link has moved. If that's the case, I can shrink the ad and move the "Return to Main Menu" to upper left.

Halhiker, the link is
http://gan.doubleclick.net/gan_click?li ... 0000378746
Its a Google Affiliates link because Google bought Doubleclick.

If that link doesn't work, you can access it directly: rockymountaintrail.com
(No commission for me, but it still functions.) The prices vary a lot. To find good deals I think takes some searching around.

Is it blocked for anybody else?

I, too, have Firefox with the Adblock add-on. I was wondering where the old photo went, and then I found this thread. It only took two clicks to disable adblock on only mtsanjacinto.info while leaving the rest of the web ad-free. I'm more than happy to help support a site I like and read.

I also clicked through the ad and checked out some of their tents. I don't really NEED a tent, but I do admit to being a gear junkie. :)

Do you get a commission if I buy something from them? Maybe I will, in that case. I can support the forum and get some gear at the same time!
