You're in an apartment unit with multiple tenants? Is the whole building being treated? Seems like it would be worthless to treat just your unit. Might be better to look at the lease and see if you can break it early because to the bedbugs (they make the place untennable (sp?)), and move somewhere else.

FWIW: In 1989 I was in Ecuador, on the Amazon side of the Andes, at about 1200ft, and we slept under insect netting. Cool (or creepy) thing to do at night was to turn on a flashlight and see how many insects were on the outside of the netting  and how they'd all be gone by sunrise! Really weird the first night, but pretty neat after that. Amazingly the big insects were the most benign; it was the little blood sucking ones you needed to avoid (mosquitos, other biting flies, fleas, reduviade bugs, etc).

It is a multi unit apartment building, and it has occurred to us that what the land lord is proposing (just the bedrooms of our unit) is unlikely to be successful.

How big are these things? Can you see them with the naked eye? After reading this thread I want to go home and check my bed! That is some scary stuff. I feel for you and your family Hikin Jim!

Yeah, it's been a huge hassle. You can see them; they're about 5mm long. They're a royal pain in the hind end.

That brings a whole new meaning to "Sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite".

:o :o :o Oh no Jim -- that looks awfully painful -- I am so sorry

I think I'd rather be surrounded by gnats, misquitoes and biting flies. At least when that happens, I'm in the mountains.

With sympathy,
Ellen
