It's not broke

But, it is sprained pretty good! I'm a tech weenie so I love my new 'moon boot' the ER gave me. I should be good to go for Skyline on Nov 7th, but now I have a built in excuse for only doing two! (Hence my justification for posting this in the first place) 8)
Hopefully, I will be back on the hill in a couple of weeks

I landed on a girl while helping a friend coach her vollyball team of 14-15 yr old girls. She was fine, the old man broke. :?
I finished practice (three games) and couldn't walk the next day.

I was actually going to do Skyline that next morning (perfect with the full moon) and for some reason, the universe simply said, 'no'.

Howdy Pup :)

Ouch -- my ankle feels your pain  I have both badly sprained (1987) and dislocated/broken (2008) my left ankle. I highly recommend consulting with a physical therapist and/or athletic trainer for exercises to strengthen the muscles around the ankle and improve balance/ proprioception.

Miles of smiles,

Um, yeah, what she said. Proprioception is, um, really important. Sure.

What the heck is proprioception?

proprioception is a third distinct sensory modality that provides feedback solely on the status of the body internally. It is the sense that indicates whether the body is moving with required effort, as well as where the various parts of the body are located in relation to each other. :D

Everytime I get close to a summit I start noticing my "prorioception" and the body is moving with required effort - but I don't always know where the various (other) parts of the body are located - especially my brain - what was I thinking
