Any opinions on photosharing websites?

Postby phydeux » Sun Jul 05, 2009 7:58 am

Anyone have any optinions on the various photosharing websites out there (smugmug, flickr, picasaweb, etc.)? Any good or bad points about them would be appreciated. With the demise of Kodachrome  , I figure its about time to transition over to digital photography.

Thanks.

I've found a photo home on flickr. Very nice community of people. I've met some good folks via flickr that i've gone on to meet and camp with in person. I've used pbase before and although i liked the interface i didn't find much community there.

If you join flickr add me as a contact .. http://www.flickr.com/photos/fboyd/

SmugMug is my favorite photo site. They have lots of features, different looks etc.
My SmugMug site. I password protect most of my galleries, however.

I have been using Smugmug for a few years now. It does cost some money each year, but I use it for wedding photography and print and sales too. If you are willing to spend $40-50 a year, it is hard to beat smugmug.
