Jan 8th Earthquake or Meteorite?

Postby Rick M » Thu Jan 08, 2009 8:58 pm

I just heard and felt a sharp thud (P-wave?) and a few seconds later the house shook (S-waves?). If it was an EQ it was like I've never felt before. May the mountains be ever so higher if so. If an impact are we going extinct?

I'd better check the USGS site: http://earthquake.usgs.gov/eqcenter/dyf ... index.html

There was a pretty good jolt centered in SB at 7:49PM, followed by a lesser one an hour later.

The info below is from the Wunderground.com site.
