Where did you hike this week end

We have not heard from some of our regular contributors for a long time. Two reasons could be unsuitable weather on the Skyline trail and lack of incidents.
Last Saturday I walked up the Tramway road and then took the tram up and hiked 1000 feet down the Skyline trail. There were two Sierra Club trips up there one of which was bagging six peaks and another one - three peaks including Cornell and Marion.

Hello Cy, i did san g. the coolest part about it was on our way down right below halfway camp we saw a bear...he was still young but so playful. we watched from afar as he rubbed up against a log, jumped around and then ran up the hill.

It's been a while since I've been up SanG; been up several times, but never saw a bear. Do you need bear containers these days for overnight trips, like in the Sierras?

I missed the bear but did see a huge big horn sheep. Bear canisters are a really good idea. Bears have been getting into (careless) peoples food

Tina - That cute looking Yogi or Booboo bear might look harmless but they can still be dangerous especially if there are no picnic baskets or packs around. Also their mother could be close by. Maybe someone took a picture of it. There have been many bear stories circulating lately.

I was in Idaho this past weekend - scrambled up Borah Peak. It was hot there too.

Nice going Kathy. What she didn't tell you was that Borah's easiest route is class three with 5500 ft of elevation gain.

Great slide show also Borah Pk from the main road looks a little bit like San Jacinto from Snow Creek.
