Hello,
Three of us are planning to hike San Jacinto Saturday May 31. Weather looks real good. Originally we were going to do the tram, but we prefer to car camp the night before and after. A high camp the night before might be better for acclimatization, also, rather than starting the day from sea-level.
We are looking at Fuller Ridge, Seven Pines or Marion Mountain trails. We're all experienced in backcountry/wilderness travel and are properly equipped, but not necessarily at the apex of physical conditioning these days. This will be a one-day RT hike to the summit.
Of those three routes do you have any recommendations and/or advice? How about campgrounds, etc.? Also, what is the availability of water on these routes this time of year?
Thank you in advance for your input.
Regards,
Tom
