Here is more information than anybody wants to know:

Skyline used to be my favorite thing to do until I discovered the big loop: Long Valley, Willow Creek, Saddle Junction, Strawberry Junction, Little Round Valley, Peak, Wellman's Divide, Round Valley, Long Valley. Now I think Skyline is kind of boring in comparison.

I've heard numbers between 20 and 24 miles. Of course that includes the peak because it would be silly to pass by the peak junction without going to one of the best views in SoCal. Yeah, I run it but without the C2C part. Start and finish in Long Valley. Clockwise is the best because it's nice to save the peak for last (and most of the downhill for the very end). The nice thing is that you don't have to carry much water. I just take two water bottles because you can fill up at the creeks in the summer time (they might be dry in the fall). Some kind of water purification is a good idea.
