Desert Divide Peaks Conditions?

Postby travis99 » Mon Mar 03, 2008 4:18 pm

I am thinking about heading up to hike some of the peaks along the Desert Divide. Anyone know what kind of condition to expect? I am thinking about hiking some of the following: Lily Rock, Tahquitz, Red Tahquitz, South Peak, Antsell Rock, Apache Peak and Spitler Peak. Curious if there is still much snow, or ice.

thanks,

I can only tell from looking up from the desert but it appears there is still plenty of snow on the northern side of all the peaks you've mentioned. OK, maybe not Spitler. A better bet might be to do something a little further south on the desert divide, maybe Palm View Peak, Morris, Lion and Pine Mountain.

If you get up there, let us know how it is.
