Taxis from the Tramway

Just a Heads UP

There has become a shortage of Taxis in and around Palm Springs, we are finding that some companies will not come up to the Tramway and the others are taking over an hour or more. Also Uber and Lift have ben spotty, maybe due to drivers make more on unemployment.

Howdy Tim :)

Thanks -- I've had issues trying to get a ride back to the museum. It's been hit and miss.

What's the process for having a friend or family member pick them up? I haven't done full Skyline since the covid restrictions and security guard at the gate or even the tollbooth near the parking lots.

Perry,

Just inform the security officer that they are picking a hiker at the Valley Station.

Howdy Grandmaster Perry :)

I can also refer to you as "Strava Stud."

Friends and family may pick up people. When possible, we'd like to leave a car at the lower tram station parking lot. However, I don't think the bottom gate opens until 5 AM. In these conditions, folks like me need to start before then to keep from melting

It has been my wife's experience that this works. Somewhat to my surprise.

Of course, you can always do a Doreen and walk back. Personally, I would be face down on the pavement halfway down the tram road.

Another way, once down tramroad, there's a bus-stop shelter next to Mirage Wine & Liquor at 2781 N Palm Canyon Dr., take bus #4 back to the Art Museum. Get your cold drinks and snacks first.
