Howdy danpenska :)

I did not go Easter weekend. As I noted in a different thread, the traverse still has substantial snow. A friend who went up said the snow was icy.

Howdy Dan :)

I have friends hiking Skyline today. I'll try to get beta on the traverse.

Howdy All :)

Hiked Skyline with Dennis yesterday -- we started at 4:30 AM due to heat.

Both rescue 1 and 2 had no water and the first aid kits had been raided. On the positive side, there was no new Skyline graffiti.

Best news -- no traction was needed on the traverse 8)

Anyone been up lately? Any snow to speak of? May head up on the back-end of this mini-heat wave that looks to be moving in.

Howdy Dan :)

Went up last Sunday with Miracle Marilyn and didn't need traction. I doubt that the last systems have added any snow to the traverse. For Long Valley to the peak, check https://sanjacjon.com

Love that photo Ellen, nothing better than a great sunrise before a kick-ass hike / climb.

Btw, I spoke with Doug McK who been on Skyline a number of times lately, and he mentioned never seeing more unprepared people before. He meet a knackered couple above Flat Rock, who were ready to turn around, (uugghh), and almost out of water, (& maybe nutrition). He nursed them up, step by step, (w some whining & crying), but they made it. I know how painful that can be, so hopefully people considering the climb will find this board, or other forms of good info, (& let their egos not dictate what they attempt). S2
