West Hill

I've recently acquired a glorified cabin in Pinewood near the top gate. I was marching around the other day and saw a hill I thought might have glorious views. It's very near the seven pines trailhead. Anyway, I made it to the top and found a stunning clearing; an off trail campsite, complete with a lovely natural art piece and a sign that said 'West Hill'.

Anyone know of it?

It sounds like a fun discovery. I don’t think it is widely known, and I had not heard of it before reading about it here.

Sooner or later the main attractions lose their appeal. So crowded. Places like West Hill become more attractive. Many interesting places are hidden in the wilderness and are visited only by a few wanderers. No names have been attached to them, except for the private names given by such wanderers. No status anxiety is attached to such places. No one bags them. No selfies are sought there.
