Water Availability

Postby packerbacker » Sun May 19, 2019 3:49 pm

Taking my son up next weekend and camping at Tamarack for two nights. Is it safe to assume with the wet winter / spring there's a good amount of water available up there? Is the spigot at Round Valley running? Just trying to get an idea of how much water to pack in. Thanks!

Spigot was flowing on the 18th then it snowed on the 19th!

At this rate, (it may be snowing as I write this above 7-8k ft.), you should have several water sources, besides the spigot in RV. Little creeks, like the one just west of Diorite, (I think that's the name of the one close to where the locals route heads west out of Tamarack towards the main trail, NW of the wooden outhouse), should have a small flow.

Have fun up there, hopefully it will warm up & most of the snow will melt. ss
