Zip, I want some of what yer smokin, (although mine's pretty good :)

Silurian hypothesis, well, this requires substances only Shaman's had access to, and to discuss otherwise would be grounds for banishment, (into Tahquitz Cyn, where one bad hombre's spirit already resides, look it up!?).

Speaking of geology, if I knew how to post photos here, I believe I have shots of the trail of a giant boulder a couple miles south of PCT in Snow Creek, on ridge just west of the big Snow Creek opening. I have to think that if any of these rocks were going to come down, the Valentine's day flood would have done it.
Unable to see the bottom, to see if a fresh boulder lays there, (maybe it was just a mass of drainage from run-off).

hi,

I can help with geology. Slot canyons form via alluvial erosion, as in water.

Howdy Pat :)

Nice to meet you on the climb up to Grubbs Notch from Coffman's Crag. I apologize for not being more talkative -- all of my energy was focused on reaching Long Valley

BTW -- I love puns and enjoyed the exchange between you and Z-dude. Another mountain brother (Hikin' Jim) is a master. There's a collection of HJ's puns here:

Great meeting you, too Ellen!! I know focus in a person when I see it -- I'm just glad you didn't mow me down! Haha! :P

I'll see you again up there, I'm sure.
