San Jacinto wildflowers/clouds

Howdy All :)

Last Friday, Marilyn, Cameron and I hiked the Strawberry loop counter-clockwise -- my first time that direction. Thus, we reached the peak early. Kept our fingers crossed that the clouds would stay with us for shade. Marilyn had a birthday on Thursday, so I told her I'd hike Strawberry this way one time. Cameron took the best flower pictures, posted below.

Don't know what the name of these flowers -- suggestions?

Going uphill on Strawberry, I expected to see a hobbit at any minute...

Always great views of Tahquitz from Strawberry.

After suffering on the climb up to Wellman's divide, I decided this would be my last time going in this direction  Went into beer mode back to the tram and enjoyed CVB Monumentus IPA. Finished a great day with fabulous food at the original Las Casuelas.

Miles of smiles,

Hi Ellen,
Always enjoy your photo-heavy TR's, as it teleports us readers right there.
Great pics Cameron, appreciate the depth of field you get, so we can admire the flowers & the landscape.
The forest has been rather cool (& sweaty), but I'm enjoying the "costal-type" conditions this monsoon :x is providing the forest.
I haven't done that climb to Wellman's (except from RV), but remember is being a long slug.

+3 likes for the lemon lilies. My family likes those photos, especially my daughter Lily.

Thank you for the fun TR and fine photos, Ellen.

Happy Birthday to Marilyn!

Lovely lilies and other flowers.

Maybe you didn't see a Hobbit, but you were in the right neighborhood. Isn't that Gandalf's kinfolk? ;-)
