Marion Mt trail

Howdy All :)

Sally, Marilyn and I hiked up Marion Mt. to San Jacinto and came down via Devil's Slide yesterday.

We haven't been up the Marion Mt. trail in quite a while and were pleasantly surprised with the wonderful condition of the trail. The wilderness is still "waking up" -- there were only a few wildflowers. However, the overgrown brushy section of the Deer Springs trail heading up from the Fuller Ridge junction managed to scratch my legs and draw blood  I can also confirm that the Never Ending Switchbacks heading up from Little Round Valley seem to be getting longer

Great views from the peak (new sign).

On the descent, we took the winter route to the Miller Saddle. The view south from Wellman's divide was splendid as always. Also enjoyed gazing at Lily Rock as we dropped down, though my body was very happy to reach Humber Park.

We saw a large number of PCT hikers -- the most I've ever seen in one day. After a visit to Nomad Ventures in Idylwild, we feasted on yummy burgers at the Lumbermill.

Miles of smiles,
Ellen
