Please cross your fingers for some winter weather this weekend!

All trails (including Willow Creek to Saddle Junction) is open. There are traces of icy snow in Long Valley (next to Ranger Station) and about 1” to 3” inches of icy snow in the higher elevations towards the peak. Trail starts to get icy past the ranger station. Micro spikes, or Yak traxs, and hiking poles are highly recommended. The Round Valley water spigot is flowing. Trails are signed at trail junctions only. Good route finding and navigation skills are recommended. Please have the proper clothing/food/survival gear/water for the mountain environment. Stop by the Ranger Station for your free day hike permit & map. Saturday Night - Rain likely before 10pm, then a chance of showers after 10pm. Areas of fog. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 38. Breezy, with a west wind 20 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 40 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%.
