Temperature Differences:

What is the dirrerence in temperature between the Tram Station, Long Valley, and the Summit? Also, ther is that point where you cross over to make that final @ 1/2 3/4 mile ascent to the summit that really appears cooler than any section of the hike. I have never carried a thermoter but am curious.

Are you thinking of dayhiking to the summit from the Tram in mid-winter? By the time you get to the summit, the temp will have warmed up significantly. Typical daytime summit temps on a nice winter day can be in the 40F's, and with no wind that will feel comfortable. From my experience the typical winter nighttime low temps at Round Valley or Tamarack Valley will be around 15F-20F.
