Snow Creek climb

Postby Fasthills » Thu Apr 14, 2016 4:01 pm

Has anyone done this climb recently?

Anyone interested?

I'm in Palm springs for 10 days, from over East for 10 days with crampons and axe!

Tough, dangerous climb, but a classic if you have the skills and athletic ability.

Be aware though that Township 3 South, Range 3 East, Section 33, San Bernardino Baseline and Meridian, is private property. It's owned by the local water company, the DWA, and they are SERIOUS about no trespassing. It's one square mile of land and it sits smack dab in the mouth of the canyon that Snow Creek descends. If you want to climb Snow Creek, it's legal, so long as you figure out a way around the private property. Oh, and don't pollute the water back there. The DWA will prosecute as several people have learned -- the hard way.

The area marked in red, Section 33, is off limits. The area marked in green, Section 28, is public land, and you have right of passage.

Good luck,
