Palm Springs Water Routing Map

Postby magikwalt » Mon Nov 26, 2007 10:29 pm

Came across this while researching some hikes. Gave me an excuse to check out Perry's new picture hosting location. Anyone want to IM me with the location of the pipes that carry water under San Jacinto that were drilled back through back in the early 30's or 40's? The map seems to be showing them up towards the Banning area.

Maybe I'm missing them, but the map doesn't appear to show anything going under San Jac that I can see. The only aqueducts shown are the Coachella Canal (Item 3) and the Colrado River Aqueduct (Item 4), neither of which goes anywhere near San Jac. :?: :?:

Huell Howser did an episode on the tunnels. 13 miles long and 16ft around. I remembered he went in them aways with an escort of course. Can't remember where they began or came out.

Gosh darn if I don't feel like a horse thats been led around the post again. Seems we wound up right back at the "Does anyone know where the opening is on this side?"

Thanks Alan...I thought I'd asked this question before. Must have been that last pull on the jug that fogged my brain.
