Missing Hiker in Long Valley Canyon

This has been a busy year for Search and Rescue. This hiker was reported hiking down from Long Valley.

As soon as I know more about this odd search, I'll pass on more information. The guys friend said he went down Long Canyon, up the north ridge and out that way.

That ain't easy in anyone's book!

The Sheriff found the guy at home about 11:30 last night.

Thanks Jim - I wonder if he was scouting out a new route. I cant imagine why anyone would go off trail there unless he got lost.

Wonder if he managed to link up with the trail above hollow stump somewhere. Depending on what time he started that would be his best place to possibly see the trail and be able to move towards it.

It's a shame that the RP (reporting party) didn't try to call his "missing" friend periodically. You guys had to search for a man sitting in his easy chair, perfectly safe and sound.
