well, i hiked all the four peaks, mt. san jacinto, cornell peak, mt. baldy, and mt. san gorgonio all in five days. on saturday, the first hike that i did was mt. baldy from wrightwood, up the acorn trail and then up the others devils backbone and back, that is near 7000 feet of gain if you count all the up and downs. its a great trail by the way. Then, on monday, i did San Gorgonio via vivian creek, this was a great trail as well, about 5500 feet of elevation gain. On Tuesday, i went up the tram and hiked Cornell Peak (3rd class) from round valley, and then on wednesday, i did mt. san jacinto from round valley. I hope that im in shape for cactus to clouds.
it was really fun to hit the major peaks in southern california all in a weeks time.

Okay - Skyline

I am thinking of going in mid July when there is a full moon. Saturday July 15 sounds like a good time to go. I would leave from the museum at 1 am.
Right now there is a heat wave in Palm Springs. I bet someone will go during the 4th of July weekend.

Night Lights

Postby Snowhiker » Tue Jun 27, 2006 1:56 pm

Hey Cy, what type of light(s) do you use when you tackle C2C at 1am? Headlamp, flashlight, both, moonlight only? Thanks.

I usually use a flashlight with a head lamp in my pack as a spare.
