Hi All,
I Left Long Beach early yesterday morning and summited SJ via the Marion Mtn Trial and camped at Little Round Valley last night. Just a few patches of snow here and there but nothing of significance and nothing on any of the trails. Weather on the summit was fantastic and the views were outstanding, you could see the Salton Sea and beyond. I estimate that the temp on the summit at 2:00 pm was in the mid 60s. Met six awesome folks from Hollywood (originally from Russia and the Ukraine) on the Marion Mtn Trail and then again on the summit - very nice folks.
In Little Round Valley the gnats were out in force in the late afternoon and evening and the mosquitoes came out after the sun dipped below the ridgeline. That's when I retired to my tent. Lows last night were in the mid 40s. Woke up this morning had some Joe and broke camp and hiked it out. All in all another great hike. Take care. Adam
