mid-week can always do some shuttling
not saying if one has a beater low clearance....take 2hrs & one were to walk and guide...just not worth abuse, pinch-flat, bent rim, head-slam etc. on those pointy rocks..herky jerky with some big holes...low clearance definitely not recommended. most likely throw your front end alignment off as well, even loose a weight for the tire balance, the last hill climb to the TH was gnarl. possible hike quicker pass Black mtn campground?
i went to 4WD low just to keep from slamming....needed to crawl, then there are sections real nice...like the Fuller Ridge Yellow Post Site!
BTW there are now signs on those remote sites that say
"This Site Is Now Free" whereas in Boulder Basin, etc. there is a fee.
or does that mean that it's 'open' free = ready to reserve and pay>?
that Fuller Ridge TH yellow post site is just the yummiest ever!
all the creeks are closed down low due to the endangered species (yellow-legged Frog)
Water Source is near the road at the tank they put in on the switchbacks to the Black mtn. before turn off to boulder basin et. al.
bummer.....lots of flowing water but you can't get within 10 feet...anyone got an 11 foot straw???
