I Jumped out of bed this AM, poured a cup of coffee, sat down to view the Long Valley Tram cam, and the whole Tram website seems to be down

.
I was really looking forward to seeing how much snow had fallen. When I checked it yesterday AM it was raining cats and dogs.

Thanks for the update that the snow level has dropped, Florian. I am anxiously waiting to see pictures from anyone who is going up today or tomorrow.

From looking at the Long Valley Webcam, the snow doesn't look very thick. I estimate 6 to 10 inches on the ground, though that may be a compact, compressed and very dense snow. About 3 & 1/2 inches of precipitation fell on the mountain @ 8600', but I guess that was mostly rain.

It is nice to finally see some snow up on the mountain, but the limited amount for the season is still a concern. I wonder, is this the driest year up there on record, or was 76-77 worse?

Now, I did not hike due to the events of the weekend of 2/8 and 2/9, and then an flat tire near Ocotillo the next day, nor do I have plans to hike this, this spring. Will people still be attempting this from the bottom with this snow?
