Is there anyone doing the Skyline between now and Feb 9 that I could tag along with? I have viewed this message board in the past and I have seen some posts for groups that are going up. Is that still happening? I have done the hike before in about 2002 under similar conditions to this year, e.g., no snow. I am a trail runner and feel I am fit to hike it.

Thanks, Florian.

Looks like I missed the boat on this weekend, as I forgot to check for messages last nite. :( I'll be gone from PS by the 15th. If there is anything next weekend, I would like to know.

If you are flexible on the 8th or 9th, I would be interested in someone doing the Skyline. Not the full C2C, though.

I should be honest, though, as my primary motivation for a partner is for Tram to Museum transportation. Otherwise, I expect to walk that after the tram ride down.

I am very leisurely in my start times. Probably between 8 or 9 AM local.

Hi Jim,

The 8th would work for me, as does starting at 8 or 9. I am looking to go from Ramone or the museum to the Tram. I'd like to go to the peak, but that would have to be for another day. I could provide transportation back from the Tram, as my husband can pick us up. Do you have any info about weather/ snow conditions on the trail since the colder weather has moved in? I need to pick up some cold weather gear, as I did not bring much with me (I'm visiting from BC).

Hi Judy,

I was up there yesterday and there was very little snow, only about an inch and it was only the last 500 vertical feet or so. I did fine without any special snow gear.

Thanks!

can I ask what you eat on the trail, i.e. bars & gels or "real food", e.g., sandwiches & fruit? Sorry for all the questions, but the first/last time I did Skyline, we were all rank amateurs, and it was only by luck that it turned out OK.

Judy,
I may have to push back to the 10th or 11th. Sorry. I might be in San Diego over the weekend.
