Cactus to Cloud trail conditions

Postby wardj08 » Sun Dec 08, 2013 7:49 pm

Is there a site where you can check the trail conditions? We were hoping to do this hike in the next few days but understand some snow has arrived. We are not comfortable/experienced using an ice axe so if this is required, we will have to decide on an alternate.

Thanks!

Actually, this site would be the best site to do just that. Glean through the postings of the last few days, and I think you can get a pretty good sense of the trail.

Thanks! We ended up talking to a few locals and deciding to go for it. We did the hike on Weds, Dec 11th. Weather was perfect and the trail conditions were great - a tiny bit of snow near the top but not bad. We just wore running shoes and it was fine. Took us about 5.5 hours from the Art Museum to the Tram. We were too tired to go all the way to the peak (we are not hikers!) but it was very pretty and a good workout. :D
