Hikers Rescued In Indian Canyons

Postby halhiker » Thu Dec 05, 2013 11:08 am

We had TWO rescues in the Indian Canyons. One on Monday and one Tuesday. It's getting pretty chilly at night so be prepared with some cold weather gear, just in case.

Yikes! Hope the gent with the injured ankle is OK. Perhaps he may have been better prepared than the second hiker, who was uninjured but woefully unprepared for a night of hypothermic delight.

Might say the he was in dire Straits?

Hats off to teh Tribal Rangers and volunteers with PSMPSAR.

Having spent some long winter nights unprepared out on the trail, I'd say bringing "just in case" clothing is a really good idea.

Well. I'm feeling less silly about all the junk Ellen and I carried on Skyline last Wednesday, "just in case," for the storm that didn't happen.

You wanna feel really dumb, try being out in the cold thinking about that down jacket you left in the car. For three days. :(
