Postby mtbphoto » Mon Sep 10, 2007 4:27 pm

Hello, me and a buddy will be doing San Jacinto Via Marion Mountain Trail, on thursday and friday, we will be camping in little round valley on thursday night. Will there be any water up in that area, or do we have to pack it all? Thanks!

No bear canister on San Jacinto (they are very rare), but San Gorgonio yes (very common). I don't know the water status of LRV. It's been a dry year. I don't think San J got as much precipitation in August as San G.

it was pretty fun. No water in LRV, but we never really searched for any, there was one small puddle about 3/4 or 1 mi before lrv, but it was very sketchy, we brought about 1.5 gallons each and used almost all of it.
Great weather, didnt see anyone until the second day.

Heres that little bit of water:

The next day we went to big bear: Image

Overall a great trip, if everything goes well we will be doing san gorgonio next weekend.
