We are planning a Friday departure for the cactus to clouds. Anyone do it recently? I would love a report on the conditions. As well, what time did you depart?

Awesome to hear. Nice that some of the post holing is already done for us. So to clarify, you started at the trailhead at 8-9AM? I guess it's not as hot right now, but that seems quite late.

That's what we were thinking regardless. I want to be further up the ascent for the sunrise anyway. I think a 5 AM start would be fine for this time of year along with the projected temperatures for the week. So looking forward to this.

We went from the tram to the summit yesterday. There was quite a lot of snow up there, but it is melting fast, so I suspect conditions will be different by the weekend. Here on some pics showing current conditions.

very slushy snow below Tamarack Valley on Sunday, still a considerable amount on the summit but will be mostly melted by the end of the week
