CTC hike on Sun Nov 4,2012 at 4AM

We are a group of 8 hikers first time doing CTC hike. We would like to invite any hikers that have done this hike before to join our group. We were all trained Baldy village hike and others in local mountains. Several of us did Rim to Rim day hike in Grand Canyon and Mt Whitney day hike etc., But, we are new to this trail.

Sorry I can't conduct you up the C2C myself, but 10,000' of gain is *way* more than this bad kneed hiker wants to contend with. Again, good luck on your C2C.

There should be plenty of folks going up Skyline that day.

The day before (Sat), there could be as many as 200 people. The San Jacinto hiking club, Sierra Club, Peakbaggers and folks from San Diego are all going.

Wonder if Cameron will sit on top of Coffman's Crag for entertainment

Nothing like a nice wilderness experience I always say.

I went straight up the ridge on the Momyer Creek Trail on Friday. I saw not one person once I left the trailhead area. I stayed overnight and still didn't see anyone on Saturday as I went down the Falls Creek Trail. There were some cars parked at the Momyer Creek trailhead when I got back Saturday evening, so there were a few people out there, but they were so dispersed that I never actually saw anyone.

Thanks Ellen. Evidently this hike became lot popular since I last did it up to Tram. I am no longer concerned my friends will be hiking without seeing any humans on the trail.
