Friday Oct 5th Day Hike from Humber Park to SJP

Postby dvdlrnbugs » Tue Oct 02, 2012 10:30 am

Planning on doing a day hike from Humber Park to San Jacinto Peak and back this Friday 10/5 (Devils slide, PCT, Wellman Cienega, Summit and back). Anyone have any updated info on water flow (Availability/Location)? I've yet to do any hiking in the SJ Wilderness and am not familiar with these specific trails... Any info would help

Thanks,
Dave

Came through Wellmans Cienega 10 days ago and there was still a little water flowing. That's likely the only place you'll find water on that hike, but it's at a great spot. Enjoy.

I'm gonna pack 4 liters with me as a precaution incase I don't come across any along the trails. I plan on getting into Idyllwild around 1030pm or so Thursday night and getting a day permit outside of the ranger office. Gonna sleep for a few hours at Humber Park and start up Devils Slide around 615am Friday morning. Can't wait!

Anyone else gonna be out there this Friday/Weekend?

Two of us will be fooling around on the Seven Pines Trail on Sat. so if you delay it a day we will see you on the summit at about the same time that it would take you from Devils Slide trail
