Howdy All :)

It was a beautiful day to snowshoe yesterday, although as Kathy Wing noted, there was not enough coverage to go the standard winter route.

We followed a nice snowhoe track through Sid Davis up to Tamarack. Incredibly, the track continued up the shrubs into the little forest. At this point, we headed up through the forest to the gully next to Jean. I love heading up the gully to the saddle on the ridge.

Once on the ridge, it was a straight forward approach to bag Jean, where we fueled up before retracing our step and traversing on the left side of the ridge over to San Jacinto. The wind was brisk on top, so we didn't dally long before dropping down to the ridge and heading to Miller saddle. Since Miller was a stone throw away, we completed the Trifecta by bagging Miller before heading down the main trail and back to the tram.

Thanks to the hardy folks who broke trail -- my legs were toast following Tuesdy and Wednesday Skylines and climb up Baldy via Register ridge on Friday. A special thanks to whoever broke in the trail through the shrubs 8) Unlike Speedy Steve and Inferno, I don't have speedy alien DNA and need more time to recover

Next hike will be over on the north side on San Gorgonio 8)

Miles of smiles,
Ellen

What a great day you had! Congrats to all in your group! I checked the Tram Cam before work yesterday and when I saw all the snowshoers at the ranger station I was extremely envious.

I'm looking forward to Wednesday - San G, here we come!
