Snow on skyline

To all the Skyline junkies; Thanks to Ellen’s snow dance on Tuesday we have gotten 10-12 inches of new snow and it still snowing! Way to Ellen. Snow is sticking down to 3500’ so winter has come back for a few day at least .

Just looked at Long Valley Webcam...lots of snow on top. What can we expect for our Saturday Skyline: snow/ice, trail finding, temperature and any other considerations given the storm? Done it once before but not with snow. Just in case, any recommendations for another good hike sans snow?

In San Bernadino the snow level is down to 4000 ft

They can't be rented out here,and you'd need more than just micros right now. skyline will be a big pull energy wise and route finding wise, even for the weekly regulars....we got a good bit of snow and it's down to at least 4000'.

unless youre really good at snow and route finding, I might look into Palm Canyon, or Indian canyons....should be beautiful in there.

This weather will not do, it is not what I ordered up.
Here I am in Seattle, watching what is "perfect microspike" Skyline weather for two months. Then I plan a quick trip down and suddenly I have to be Grizzly Adams to make it up.
Will several hundred people please go up and pat down a nice trail for me.

I am jusy wondering whether anyone went up the trail today ? It is now 3 full days since the snow , I reckon there will have been some consolidation of snow .
Any news on conditions ?
