Snow Info

Had a great day in Anza Borrego yesterday. I hiked through Canyon Sin Nombre and the Mud Caves. Really cool area

Anyway, I am going on my annual New Years Eve snowshoe up San Jacinto on Saturday and was wondering if anyone had been up recently. Debating on whether or not to bring snowshoes. Thanks!

It's been incredibly dry here in SD this year, unfortunate for our mountains and waterfalls, yet it has made for some of the finest weather I have ever seen in the 4 years I've been hiking in Anza. I really want to backpack Rabbit and Villager in Late Jan or February, never been up there.

Thanks for posting the TR though, I've never been to the Mudcaves myself, but now have some Inspiration to drop by soon. Thanks for the awesome photos!

By the looks of the webcam in Long Valley looks like some parts of the trail may be somewhat void of Snow. Although I couldn't tell you for sure. If not snowshoes I would at least bring Microspikes.

I'll be praying for one more Winter Storm before I break out the snowshoes for sure. Happy Hiking!

.....a wonderful place to spend a winter night. Check the wind forecast first.

Thanks for the comments everyone. I think I am going to leave the snowshoes at home and just bring the crampons. I will post some pictures when I get back.
