Snow Camping at Round Valley

I'm planning a trip to Round Valley camp ground in a week or two. This will be my daughters first experience snow camping. So I figured taking the tram up and a two mile hike to the camp ground would be a nice introduction.

I'm still getting together some gear and have some questions........

Is there water available at the camp ground and does it need to be treated?

Will snowshoes be mandatory for the 2 mile hike to the camp ground?

What kind of night time temps are to be expected at 8000 ft, is there a website with weather forecasts for the higher elevations?
