Museum Parking lot closed Saturday

Postby neverwashasbeen » Tue Oct 25, 2011 12:39 pm

For those of you thinking of Skyline/C2C this coming Saturday, the museum parking lot will be closed for a special event. This is their annual Day of the Dead event and the parking lot will be closed off sometime Friday.

Ellen, you should be able to park on the streets around the museum, if you start at the normal early hours. I don't think the event starts until 9am, so there shouldn't be much going on before that. Of course, it may be a good excuse to start at the end of Ramon Rd.

Yes; the Tram road challenge is set for this Saturday and the road will be closed from 4:30 till 9. Also the visitor centers parking lot will filled with cars and equipment for the race. I believe that Craig and few others are running.

Saturday will be a very busy day on Skyline, and at the museum, and at the tram. The museum parking lots will be closed but early hikers should find ample street parking. The parking structure across from the museum will be free for museum parking on Saturday. I don't think they'll be checking if you actually visited the museum but not positive about that.

I won't be on the trail Saturday. I will be at the museum for a while.

PS: The museum will be open free of admission charge and free food too on Saturday. So if you're in the area, or even after a Skyline hike if you're somewhat presentable, come on in and enjoy the museum!

Howdy Tram Tim :)

Thanks so much for everything you do for the Hikin' Fools 8)

Howdy Florian :)

Great advice, thanks so much. Saturday sounds like a great day to visit the museum after Skyline. I better wash off the blood and bring clean clothes

Thanks for the post Florian, I haven't been to the museum in years, I hope to have a chance to drop in.

I might do the Tram Road Challenge, but I have a minor injury that might keep me out, so I may just do Skyline instead (that sounds kinda odd, huh?) Either way, I hope to be out there this weekend. Maybe I'll see some of you hikin' fools.

Florian, are you going to be out in the museum proper, or up in the administrative offices? I'll look for you if you'll be out in the public area.

Howdy Z :)

Actually, doing Skyline rather than the tram road challenge when injured makes a lot of sense in an alien DNA greyhound sort of way

Hope to see you out there.
