After a knee injury a few years back, i became painfully aware of the height of certain steps along the trail. I nicknamed these 3 Tom, Dick and Harry:

Thru hikers seem to swear by "vitamin I".

So true. I've heard many long distance hiker's attest to preemptive doses of Motrin. It may wreck your kidneys, but hey most of us carry a spare :lol:

on recent return visiti and hike to the top....ok, semi snob on hiking here....the Tram Station to / from Summit is pretty nasty in spot. That is, the large knee up/downs are not fun....and living now in Washington, i found the rock to rock part of that trail (especially on the traverse from Wellmans) to be, uh, painfull.
