San Jacinto summit, Sunday 8/27

Great hike from tram to San Jacinto with my son Kai today. Some awesome weather on the mtn too. A lightning strike in the clouds just as we reached the summit was so close the charge physically made the hair on my arm stand up! Rain drenched us on the hike down too. What a great hike!

Here is a shot of both of us at the summit after the lightning but before the rain started .. http://www.flickr.com/photos/fboyd/6087444220/

Was at wellmans just before noon when the first crack of close thunder hit. Loud & continuous thunder with rain all afternoon until about 300. No flooding, but a fun storm on my last day of summer there.
Get out of that damn contraption & walk!

I don't think so, I'm pretty sure i would recognize you + we were back in RV just as you were starting down. Then we wandered aimlessly through the forest trying to get good views of the storm (ty CCC for the use of your cooking shelter during a downpour....why did i leave my rainjacket on the backseat of my truck).
