Toro Peak - No Trespassing BS!

Anyone know the reasoning behind the evil sign on the road up to Toro Peak. This is one of the best views in all of Southern California, and I think it it preposterous that a small tribe of Indians can shut down access to hikers.

It reminds me of Kitching Peak. Something needs to be done about this crap, hiking is not trespassing!

I think Toro is actually on Indian land but Kitching is in the national forest. I think you could legally access Kitching Peak from Whitewater or Mission Creek. Have tried asking for permission?

Sorry to have not caught this earlier but this is a great picture. I forwarded the information and picture to Mary Bono. I explained how long this area has been open and available and asked that she make sure this doesn't happen to the Palm Springs area with the BLM / Agua Caliente lopsided land swap.

I would encourage any and all of you to become active again on the land swap issue since most elected officials make decisions based upon the VOLUME of noise generated.
