Is there still snow from round valley to wellmans? are boots needed?

I wanted to rock my trail runners but these shots are making me think that boots and gaiters are the way to go. Going up on Sat (tentatively) anticipating an epic battle with the wind

cool, thanks...saw this post but didn't read to the end where they went down to RV. Looks like boots are the way to go.
