Devils Slide/Round Valley report

I've seen some interest in trail conditions. We went up Devils Slide Saturday (May 21), peaking and camping in Round Valley and came down the same way Sunday. We managed just fine, although once in a while you will encounter some over equipt "know it all" that will tell you how bad the conditions are. You don't need snowshoes or microspikes, just use caution in the slippery parts. Of course, you will get you shoes/pant legs wet if you go up later when it gets slushy. Saw a group of c2cers just before Miller peak around 4pm or so. Here are some photos so you can judge for yourself, but it was an EPIC day on the mountain if you ask me!

When you get down to the meadow where the spring is, there are campsites to the northeast and southeast. We camped on the northeast and there were several sites to choose from. We initially looked to the southeast and found all the campsites covered in snow and fallen trees. Go towards the ranger hut and you will have more luck.
