Did It Snow on San Jac Last Night?

Postby Topper » Tue May 10, 2011 6:35 am

It rained in North Orange County last night, I'm hoping it didn't also snow on San Jacinto. Anybody in the know, please post a reply.....

Cheers,

I was wondering the same thing. I'm planning on a two night trip over Memorial day weekend and I am obsessing over the details. Need to know if I can wear my lightweight trail runners or if I need to bring the boots and gaiters out for snow.

Steaming Pile-O-Schmidt:

I hear ya, we're going up on 5/18, stressin about snowy conditions. So much so that I've resorted to nightly chants to the Native Indian Gods of weahter begging for hot-n-dry.

I'll be sure to post a hike recap that may be of help you.

Cheers

Sadly, that was marine layer and not rain from a storm. Any snow on the mountain was windblown frozen mist—hence the "dusting"— and not snow from clouds.

Since we're in a strong La Niña pattern I'd expect a real thick June Gloom in OC this summer.
