First Tram on Monday (Feb. 21) - 8 am or 10 am?

Does anyone know if the first Tram going up will be at 8 am on Monday because it's a holiday? I tried calling, but there's just the standard recording.

Thanks - that's just what I was hoping to find out. There was about 6" of snow on Morton Peak (4624') this morning. It snowed down to about 3500' or so last night along Hwy 38. I was thinking of going up to the South Fork Trail tomorrow, but I'm not willing to deal with the messy road conditions on 38 and Jenks Lake Road; so it'll be a tramshoeing day for me tomorrow.

It's nice to know it's not just the major holidays. I didn't actually get the 8 am tram - I'm not sure, which one I rode up but I headed out from the Long Valley Ranger Station at 9:15 am. It was a beautiful day out there and a pretty easy jaunt to the summit and back.

I caught the first tram up on Presidents day..about half of the people on there were SAR..Beautiful day, barely any wind and I was on the summit for a 1/2 hour eating my lunch all alone with an incredible view..Kathy, I must of passed you on my way down..I hope I said hi

I don't recall seeing anyone coming down before I got to the summit, but I didn't take the beaten path all the way to the summit; so I could have easily missed you. I like going over to Miller Saddle and up along the ridge from there; so I made my own tracks as I got close to Miller Saddle. It was a beautiful day yesterday. I would not have enjoyed being out there on Saturday at all - I just don't like the idea of heading out into a storm - I'm way too much of a sissy to do that.

An easy "jaunt" up to the peak and you were knocking in your own trail ? Your no sissy in my book.

Yeah, I did come down the track that was laid the day before..whenever I would get out of it, I would sink 1 1/2 to 2 ft in the soft snow..I figured it was just easier to stay in it, I guess I get lazy like that..ha
