Snowshoeing Conditions

We are planning to head up to San Jacinto Peak this weekend. We are wondering if anyone has gone up over the last few days and can tell us the conditions. Are snowshoes necessary? Do we need crampons? Are the trails leading up to the peak packed and iced over with the heat? Any suggestions would be helpful!!
