It was a cold one but still loads of fun. It was nice meeting Ellen along the way as well.

Hi Harry,
Very nice TR, pics and movies. You can't beat ringing out the old year by standing on San Jacinto Peak in a winter wonderland!
I hope 2011 brings you many more hiking adventures.

Nice TR Harry, it's a tough slough up there but really worth it.
BTW, where on the summit & facing south, with Jean in front & slightly to your right, head at about a 45 degree angle to your left, SE to find the hut.
It's almost right in line with where the tram is, but is somewhat hidden with trees until your fairly close.

Your a trooper to do it with a cast on your wrist!

Howdy Harry :)

It was nice to meet you as well 8) I'm surprised anyone can recognize board members in the winter when we're all bundled up  I concur with Scott2 -- you're a stud to go up with a cast on your wrist.

Regarding finding the hut...I had absolutely no problem finding it after summiting the day before. For some reason (perhaps due to the howling wind and blowing snow) it took a little longer to find it on Friday

Lcpl Hughes (Don), Karin (to my left in the picture) and I came at the summit from the south side to try to get a break from that artic wind. I actually crawled to the sign on my hands and knees  Karin's battery got too cold -- her camera didn't work.

Howdy Don :)

Thanks for posting the picture -- where is the one of you with snow in your beard

Miles of smiles,
Ellen
